We use AppSheet to capture data that falls off the grid and build new products that can be offered to customers. AppSheet is being used to capture, measure and manage data that is not currently recorded by our enterprise resource planning solution. What's even better is that the data is easily made available to our users in a very secure way and can also be visualized by other applications such as Looker. AppSheet facilitates Rapid Architected Application Development, which in turn gives the orginzation the ability to respond to changes in the environment and build new products. This is especially true in the areas of property management, logistics management and talent management.
  • Capture data in real time via a mobile device
  • Share data in a very secure manner
  • An open architecture that allows the integration of other applications
  • Audit usage of any newly built application
  • Ease of access, device independent.
  • Voice assistant has to start working so that users can talk instead of type
  • Allow generative AI to train on the data captured by AppSheet so that new insights can be quickly delivered to decision makers
  • Integrate AppSheet into established dashboard applications so that it's one seemless product.
Any property management business based requirement is easily met with AppSheet.

We have used AppSheet extensively in our business. We built apps to manage insurance claims (processing over $77M in claim payments), audit claims, audit underwriting processes, handle new claim intake, manage compliance tasks, track product changes, respond to fixes and enhancements, etc. Using AppSheet we can make enhancements to our processes quickly and do so at an affordable cost.
  • Price
  • Ease of use
  • Scope of functionality
  • Fosters a vibrant community
  • App documentation
  • Provide more options for customizing the user interface.
  • Move enhancements more quickly to production ready status. Some enhancements are stuck in "preview" for too long.
  • Continue to work on making the experience intuitive for no-coders.
Great for internal app use. Not as great for public use, but this is an area we would also like to use AppSheet more. An excellent tool to use at smaller companies that benefit from being nimble, cost efficient, and able to customize their solutions for their customers.

With only 1 year experience of using AppSheet in my daily ERP need of managing the business I'm totally in love this platform: easy to create and use, a bit more complex in terms of more advance UX or data display's need - but with our current modest SME operating module, AppSheet delivers great results (especially with their latest move offering it free for Google Workspace Users).
  • Useful Community with instant help / advices
  • Lots of samples for beginners to play with
  • Proactive Help Desk
  • Video Display
  • Calendar Display can be more clear / detail
Suitable:
- SME, moderate team.
- Lots of field works.
- High turn over rate.
- Many different departments / small groups require lots of team work
Note suitable:
- Big companies with huge users.
- Complex UX / information display needed
- Too much confidential protocol required for internal data protection

I develope apps in the free version environment for test purposes. And I love it.
  • Easy for app creation
  • Super easy UI design for apps
  • Super easy google cloud data integration
  • Easy to understand for medium users
  • Best choice for rapid app development and implementation
Managing educational courses online.
Tracking people for control in the facilities.
Show in an easy way data from google sheets.

We used to have lots of spreadsheets until I found out about AppSheet. I accidentally saw "create an app" on my google sheets and decided to click on it. Then I started to explore and I saw an excellent opportunity to integrate the many departments and I solved the inventory problem we had. Since then I've been creating solutions to track and organize our tasks and work daily routine.
  • Display data in a more friendly way
  • Simple and intuitive, easy to learn
  • Create fast automations
  • Improve user interface
  • Working with files still needs some workaround for specific routines
  • Views such as kanban, gant and more button options missing
  • AppSheet could charge only owner and admin users
It is hightly indicated for internal business management. It is less appropriate when you have many users

Inventory management and providing a user/mobile-friendly interface for colleagues in the field.
  • User-friendly (Developing and End-user side)
  • Ultra-fast creation of an app out of a g-sheet
  • Zero bugs
  • Super useful small details (e.g. Bar/QR-code scanner)
  • Simple text/image/video pages which could be easily stored in a g-sheet/g-slide (e.g. training material)
  • User specific access (e.g. define access to certain parts of the DB based)
  • The automation part is too complicated for me (it might be actually counter-intuitive or it might need better documentation/training)
  • Embedding G-forms directly in the app
Inventory management is perfect. Defining users' access levels is almost impossible (for me).

I am helping to develop an administration system for the entire organization. Currently members, teachers, directors, payments are handled manually with the help of a variety of Excel spreadsheets different by user. I am also expanding functionality
  • Create a multiplatform app within minutes
  • Integrate a variety of field types
  • Automatically defining relationships between data
  • User Roles
  • Security filters
  • Importing fields from a related table to be displayed in a separate view

AppSheet is one of the biggest enablers for a small business like ours. We have gone paperless on the key aspects of Education Management for an Art School for children that we manage. e.g. We went beyond taking Attendance as Present/Absent/Tardy etc and included Work done in the class as a key parameter. This enables the teachers to monitor progress as she/he enter attendance. Stock Management, Slot Management, Uploading Completed Work into a Gallery, etc are some of the best uses that we have had so far. I can't stop thanking the team for having created this Intuitive gem of a platform. BTW, I have tried PowerApps, Caspio, etc, and could not go beyond one day of use because am hooked to the simplicity, intuitiveness, and overall "awesomeness" of AppSheet. Moreover, community support is the other positive. You get all the answers. You get to see new feature requests being addressed, clean workarounds, etc. Overall, really really pleased with it.
  • Quick to setup.
  • Simple to use.
  • Works on multiple platforms on the go.
  • Great documentation and support.
  • Allows one to be really creative.
  • Once the tables / UX Views get way too many in number, it can become a little daunting to manage. This part of the UX may need something really smarter.
  • Ability to Undo.
  • Could provide more UI Look and Feel options. BTW, the new Graphs look great, but have some bugs, while the new INPUT() feature is a great addition too.
AppSheet in my opinion is a great enabler, especially for small businesses. Am not too sure about Scaling up though. As such, I did not find it limiting as far as my needs were concerned so far. Licensing could be made more affordable for countries like India. There could be more slabs e.g. Let's say 10-15 people company could be asked to pay lesser than the fee for 15-20.

I started using Appsheet 02 years ago. Basically, I developed a customized application within this platform that allows me to record the activities and information corresponding to the company in which I am currently working.

In short, the application is responsible for:
Registering users and their personal and professional characteristics.
Defining physical zones of the workplace (in this case, a floating dry dock).
Defining the departments that the company has to carry out the different tasks related to keeping the workplace operational (in this case, a floating dry dock).
Defining the systems that make up the workplace and allow its different activities (electrical, mechanical, lifting, anchoring, etc., etc.).
Logbook that allows each employee to update their personal information from their cell phone, record their daily tasks and send a report to their supervisors.
Report creation.
Inventory registration in warehouses.
Presentation of documents to the staff that works within the facilities.
Record of the work carried out for the different clients (In this case, maintenance work on ships).
And many more activities.
  • Trustworthy
  • Easy to use.
  • Adaptable
  • More display options in the presentation to the end user of the apps.
  • It should be possible, to generate a standard app that can be sold massively in white.
Suitable for database work. Access controller for personnel, products, sales, distribution, etc. Not suitable for applications that require visual and graphic demands. There are graphically interactive applications that have buttons or action gestures that are not common. It should be possible, to create the App. Remove information relevant to the specific company or business for which the App was generated. And then be able to share it with other similar businesses independently.

I currently develop Covid19 related applications to assist with the response to the spread of the virus. My team uses the apps to report on Covid19 activities, especially in public schools and public transport.
  • Allowing me to have a working app in minutes
  • Assistance with difficult items on the forums
  • ability to download my data easily through google drive
  • The back office reporting, things like creation of dashboards for specific users
If you are using any other license that is not enterprise, it's not suitable for sensitive data, as you can use your secure organization's infrastructure to store the data

AppSheet has allowed me to simply create a work order app for the Syrian Shrine Cincinnati non-profit organization which helps them to manage a small group of guys that work to keep the facility maintained. It was simple to implement and deploy to the 5-8 users that will use it regularly.
  • Keep the process simple for non-tech users.
  • Provides great documentation and user support.
  • Offers plans that don't cost a lot for very small groups needing a solution.
  • Help with how the end-user gets the app to use.
Citizen developers would be well suited using AppSheet

I used AppSheet to build an App that can keep and look up color code formulas used in auto refinish service in Vietnam. This app help my company can update color code formulas regularly and help our customers always have the latest color code formulas when they open app on their mobile phone
  • Build sale management app
  • Built human resource management app
  • Build field sale management app
  • AppSheet can help small and medium company improve work process however it need to improve more on user interface, sync speed
AppSheet is suitable for small and medium scale work process about 200 user. If more than that it may be slow. Or if you have more than 100.000 row of data, it could be make the app slow down. So you could use some work around to solve these problem

I have implemented Appsheet to improve my consulting service with clients, also for internal project management, financial administration and I [are] developing custom systems to improve the management of our clients.

It allows us the customization and automation of all the tools that we already use in Google Workspace, so that improvement has allowed us to obtain a great rest of the capacity to continue growing, we seek to be a digital native company, which allows the inclusion of other generations to the use of technology to increase the impact of their ventures.

Appsheet is a great evolution in creating personal productivity and management tools for us!
  • Creation of Applications for Financial Management.
  • Creation of productivity person APP.
  • Creation of APP for project management.
  • Although there is a lot of study material, it takes time to understand the full potential of the Appsheet.
  • Although all the material [are] in English, it is possible to access translations or learn in the forums and in an intuitive way.
  • The simplest apps can be created with the free version, for more complex functions or to achieve certain distributions, a license must be paid per user.
Create your own personal or business administration application.

Our company, Paperwork Pros, uses AppSheet to develop business applications for our customers. Our customers are in a variety of industries (manufacturing, insurance, food service, agriculture, transportation, building contractors, home inspectors, etc.) and the applications that we develop for them address a mix of tactical and strategic problems.
  • As a no-code development platform, AppSheet makes developing apps fast.
  • AppSheet allows us to use many different data sources such as Google Sheets and SQL.
  • AppSheet has a great community that is very supportive of each other.
  • AppSheet is fun to develop on.
  • For certain types of applications with high user counts, AppSheet subscription fees can get a little expensive.
  • Applications built on AppSheet are very responsive to phones, tablets, and computers but it would be nice if it had a computer-specific layout.
As a company that develops applications for other businesses, we've found that AppSheet is very flexible and can address many business scenarios. One unique feature of AppSheet is its offline capabilities. There are few no-code development platforms that can handle situations where users don't have access to the Internet. This ability makes AppSheet well-suited for any kind of remote applications that need to be accessed in rural or remote areas.

I am a Ph.D. student and have been working with Appsheet to collect data in the field through both on-site data collection and face-to-face surveys. The first use was related to garbage collection, and currently, I am working on urban green space usage preferences. I set up the apps and also use them on the field.
  • Being able to prepare an app almost without coding and without the need for a developer account is incredibly powerful.
  • Working on multiple platforms is a real bonus. I have been able to work with both Android and iOS devices on the field, without any kind of problems.
  • Developing, [...] testing, and refining the app is a very fluid process.
  • With a little extra work, and some extra programming, [multiple] language apps can be created.
  • Registering tracks would be a very good bonus for my line of work.
  • When creating a new app from a Google sheet, fields used as names or separators in the app structure could benefit from a clever way to be detected, similarly to other types of fields.
  • Setting personalized icons, besides the ones available, would also be a bonus.
I find Appsheet to be a very effective and productive tool for field surveys regarding point geolocated data. It is very practical for both long or short surveys, as well as for short or long survey periods. It is easy to implement interactive surveys, where the choice of an answer from multiple options [is] defined, which other questions are shown or hidden. Multiple users, with multiple user levels, can also be implemented with users [to] only see their own data, or specific parts of the app.

In my particular case, it is less appropriate for linear geolocated data, as I cannot store tracks.

In Brazil, due to the poor training, most company employees do not have good knowledge of spreadsheets. This makes administrative work very difficult. With AppSheet, employees can insert data into spreadsheets without having to access them. Inputting data through the app interfaces makes the work of the administrative and financial area more agile.
  • Easily connects to databases
  • Converts spreadsheet cells into correct columns
  • Turnkey solution, from development to marketplace admission
  • Creating an interface that allows users to drag and drop elements (e.g., let users order a list by simply dragging and dropping named elements)
  • Easily creating a quiz with a score table
  • Improving dashboard features like letting developer decide axis minimums and maximums
  • Embedding URLs, such as GDS, so users could have a great dashboard (output from the database) in the same app that has the inputs to the database
AppSheet is great for inputting data in a very easy way into the database, and specifically into spreadsheets. It's also great for monitoring processes.

It's not so great at quizzes with a score table.

Automating tasks and documentation is strategic decision to increase efficiency within my organization, many Apps I created such as timesheet management, expenses reports, inventory asset, audits and inspection reports to help my staff focus on the core business instead of admin tasks. I am [a] senior consultant for many companies, I found out that combining consultancy work for these companies and othering them solutions in regards of automated reports, documentation, data bases, etc. will make my clients more satisfied and more solutions to their day to day business challenges. The impressive story, is how fast I can provide solutions for my customers by building the first app to them just after my meeting with them.
  • Easy to build the application
  • Good support available in community or videos etc.
  • Functionality: many solutions provided by appsheet to make comprehensive app
  • Printing PDF report is the main frustration for me: the formatting (header, footer, margins, size of the pictures) did not much my expectations
I recommend AppSheet to my clients because of its features such as Easy to install, Easy to start the app, very flexible.
Generating PDF report similar to WORD document is not working, footer, header, formatting functions are not flexible.

I am a start-up entrepreneur doing an incubator course and MSc in Entrepreneurship. I am using AppSheet to develop my app idea. I wish there was more tailored info to learn a bit quicker but I really like AppSheet and enjoy learning it myself. There are some key processes I haven't learned yet but have used it for 3 days, so am sure I will get there. If I can contribute some end-to-end, single process, step by step guides to the community I will. I find learning by following processes easiest but trial and error can be frustrating and fun.
  • Synchronizes data from spreadsheets.
  • Updates live from One Drive data sources.
  • Has handy layouts for using own data.
  • Has great YouTube instruction videos.
  • Has a vibrant community.
  • Provides live webinars to walk through different actions.
  • Expectation management, i.e. telling app creators before they share what their first readers can expect, i.e. download AppSheet, etc.
  • More end to end, single track how-to processes. It is hard to wrench in own starting position into processes from a different direction to a different destination.
  • It would be ideal to gather how-to questions from users to create step by step chronological routes to reach these results.
It is great for data, live synchronisation, a supportive community, possible to learn by trial and error and doesn't require coding.

AppSheet has helped several of our teams quickly develop no-code apps. We're impressed with its integrations into multiple cloud platforms, including G Suite and Google Drive. Some apps have gone from concept to spreadsheet to fully functioning app in the course of a single day. It's helped in all sorts of record keeping and communication solutions.
  • No-code app creator
  • Quickly create app-based solutions
  • Great support and community
  • Some minor features are still in beta
AppSheet's solutions scale easily for everything from apps for a single user to apps being used by at least a medium-sized organisation. When the app solution addresses an ongoing need over the medium-term or long-term, the effort put into the app will pay dividends.

AppSheet is probably less suited toward once-off or very short-term problems with very complex data relations as the amount of effort into the app may be more than finding a more manual or mundane way of handling the data.

I am currently using AppSheet to manage my current tasks for which I have an app. I also use AppSheet to make many personal apps for my personal needs.
  • It is like MS Access and very easy to use.
  • It is free to use for up to 10 users. That is enough for home, personal and official tasks that bother us in day to day life.
  • It does not require us to have our own database, manage it, pay for it. All it needs is Google Sheets to make an app.
  • It asks for authentication every time and does not open automatically in Android.
  • Entering a lot of data is not an easy task with the app so we have to use Google Sheets to enter data manually
  • Unique Key is bit problematic, when we have to edit Google Sheets directly.
  • Rows cannot be scrolled in table view in the app. UI is limited but does all the work we need to do.
It gets the thing done and gives us ability to bring out what is in our mind the way we want it.

Utilize AppSheet across our division in sales and marketing to collect data, share data, take surveys, etc.
We collect business growth opportunities, create cross-reference look-ups, share contact info, trade show information, etc. Less than 10 people currently create apps, and about 140 users occasionally make use of various apps, but we expect this to grow.
  • Enables non-programmers to create apps fairly quickly.
  • The web-based interface shows how the app looks on mobile devices prior to deployment.
  • Web-based version allows office users to make use of PC instead of mobile device.
  • Add help buttons next to each function that would explain functions in more detail.
  • Would like to be able to make workflows run by clicking a button.
AppSheet enables team-based sharing of information to allow quick and easy inputs of data from traveling sales associates. It is not suited for apps that may require interfacing with other functionality of mobile devices such as Bluetooth communication with smart devices.

We are automating processes that are paper-based with a mobile app developed in days in AppSheet. This allowed us to deploy a mobile & web-based app to users within a 10 day period with features like GPS coordinates capturing, mobile signatures and images and security. The ability to use Google Sheets is a game-changer for us because we can prototype an app very quickly and since we are a G Suite shop it makes a lot of sense.
  • Mobile GPS capturing
  • Agile development
  • SQL Connectivity for PRO Version
  • Better use of screen real estate for desktop apps
It's great for mobile app prototyping. SQL and on-premise connectivity is pricey.
